Personal Statement:

Growing up in the evergreen state of Washington brought a lot of good experiences, and I was grateful for the many people who came across my path. My mother’s example of service has influenced me in the way I am today; I am in awe of her. Being the oldest of three it was little surprise I would be taking care of my little sisters. Often I would bring an animal home in hopes to care for them, but my father would tell me to take it back. However three cats and two dogs made their way into my life.

With a few flawed starts in the kitchen including chocolate pancakes, I got the hang of cooking. Pancakes soon became easy and I looked for more challenging things to make. Using the old cookbook I was making everything from cookies to pasta dishes. Cooking not only became second nature, I enjoy it.

From caring for the elderly, being a nanny, to house manager, I look at this road behind me and ahead and I know this is who I am. Being a patient and caring person has given me much satisfaction in the work I do. I bring to the table wisdom, experience and professionalism. Then using the wonderful Starkey System will put it all together.

Everyone enjoys good healthy food and I have the 10+ years to make it happen. My area of focus is using fresh ingredients and cooking techniques that are tasty and pleasing to the eye. Children in the home, no problem, meals for them are to their standards, and healthy to the parents standards.

With 20 years of being a nanny under my belt and having worked in a variety of homes, I have a passion for children. It has been my honor to have been an influence in so many little lives, from the three newborns I saw the day they were born to the 12 year old I tutored to learn English. Along with child care I have also spent years living with and taking care of our elders. My experiences have been in rest homes and private homes. I have shopped, cooked and help keep many homes clean for the elderly. Last, I love animals. I have personally raised several dogs, cats and birds in my home. Many of the homes I worked in had dogs. Some of my dog experience include grooming, administering medications and walking.

It will give me much pleasure to work in a home that needs what I can give. I see myself in a family environment either with parents and children or the elderly with pets. To sum up my cultural style is a cross between my desire of personal interaction and big warm hospitality.
