I was born in New York City and raised in Tennessee, the fifth of six children. After serving in the Air Force during WW II, my father became a successful commercial pilot for forty years. My mother began as a flight attendant before raising six children and keeping an immaculate home. International travel, gourmet cooking and baking were priorities in our family. An elaborate Sunday evening dinner was a regular ritual. In high school, I realized that I had a natural aptitude for order and an eye for detail. Being around four sisters and my mother gave me experience in flower arranging, gardening, and meal planning along with the regular cooking and cleaning. As a youngster, I earned a Children’s Ministry degree, and today I continue to uphold strong family values. People who know me in a variety of contexts would state that their first and enduring observation about me is that I have a genuine joy in serving others. My parents have a strong work ethic and imparted that to me. But given my personality and personal values, serving is not burdensome, but something I truly enjoy. Loyalty and perseverance are very important and are values I hold dear. Loyalty shifts my focus to the needs of the other person and increases the longevity of a relationship. Perseverance allows me to stay committed to the work to be done in order to meet those needs of the other person. Both are critical values in running a household. At my very core, I have a true servant’s heart. I anticipate the needs of those around me and find pleasure in meeting those needs. I have a love of a clean and organized home, particularly one that enjoys good cuisine. In addition to my family experience growing up, I have advanced this skill through cleaning in both hotels and private homes. In Nashville, Tennessee I had a successful cleaning business serving a high end clientele. I also assisted in running multiple homes for physicians and business executives. I have worked with great chefs in country clubs, restaurants, resorts, and hotels. In addition to my cleaning business, I also ran a small catering company in Nashville with my sister. Living in both Belgium and France gave me a great respect for European cuisine and an appreciation for beauty and culture. My time on a kibbutz in Israel added to my experience of different cultures. I have a passion for entertainment. During the past twenty years, I have worked thousands of parties, banquets, weddings and large events. Working in the world’s largest non-gaming convention center over fifteen years gave me tremendous experience with the logistics and planning required for entertainment events. There, I filled many roles in social functions for 5,000 to 10,000 people that occurred on a regular basis. Working backstage at the Grand Ole O Pry afforded me the opportunity to serve superstars, country legends, and even a United States president. Entertainment events were of every style --- high end formals to casual BBQ by the pool. I bring a high level of expertise to a home and help to create memorable entertaining. I possess a gracious southern style of service with“old guard” service flair. I have been blessed with a wonderfully diverse set of life experiences. Combined with my natural personality, gifts and values, it has shaped in me a joy of serving others, of helping create for them wonderful experiences that heighten the joy of life. I am trustworthy, loyal and reliable. I desire to be a Household or Estate Manager that combines people management and overall, hands-on responsibilities where my talents fit well with the needs and desires of the principal. |
